The 2025 Integrated Report & Financial Statements for the year ended 31 December 2025 — a look at how East Africa's largest independent media house is reshaping how the region reads, watches and listens.

01 — Overview
Who We Are

NMG Overview

Nation Media Group sits at the centre of the East African media landscape, carrying the region's conversation across print, broadcast and digital platforms. Built on a founding commitment to independent journalism, NMG amplifies African voices across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda, and reaches audiences well beyond the continent.

As the region's news habits move from the newsstand to the screen, NMG continues to invest in the platforms, products and people needed to keep that trust intact — positioning the Group as the media of Africa, for Africa.

To be the media of Africa for Africa.

Group Chairman's Statement

In his first statement since taking over as Chairman following Dr. Wilfred Kiboro's retirement, Joseph Muganda reflects on a year in which the Board sharpened NMG's execution priorities and backed management's push into digital-first journalism — while continuing to argue that a free, independent press remains a public good, not just a commercial enterprise.

He points to the Nation Media Foundation's inaugural flagship programme, NXT HER, as an early sign of the Group's growing social-impact ambitions beyond the newsroom, and reaffirms a Board committed to pairing editorial credibility with commercial discipline as the basis for sustainable, long-term growth.

Group MD & CEO's Statement

Geoffrey Odundo reports a year in which NMG's digital footprint grew to 63.6 million users, up from 62.4 million in 2024, on the back of sustained audience acquisition and the launch of the Nation App — a single entry point designed to simplify how readers reach NMG's brands across print, broadcast and digital.

Looking to 2026, he sets out plans to keep investing in talent and digital-first content, to scale subscription growth by building on the success of the Group's staff referral campaign, and to keep strengthening the technology and security backbone behind the newsroom.
