{"id":10083,"date":"2020-03-17T15:17:53","date_gmt":"2020-03-17T15:17:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aercafrica.org\/?p=10083"},"modified":"2021-11-23T18:33:40","modified_gmt":"2021-11-23T18:33:40","slug":"covid19-measures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/demo.oxygenehosting.com\/aerc\/covid19-measures\/","title":{"rendered":"Statement on COVID-19 Measures"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>AERC STATEMENT ON COVID-19 MEASURES<\/h2>\n<p>Dear Network Members,<\/p>\n<p>My thoughts are with each of you as we navigate this difficult time together.<\/p>\n<p>African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) has been monitoring the developments of COVID-19 globally, following guidance from both the Kenyan Government and the World Health Organization as the situation changes here in Kenya.<\/p>\n<p>At this time, we are continuing our operations; however, we anticipate closing our offices as the situation warrants, enabling our staff to work from their homes.<\/p>\n<p>The following external activities and events have been postponed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University monitoring, all universities<\/li>\n<li>INCLUDE\/IDRC\/ILO Conference, April, Benin<\/li>\n<li>AERC\/A4NH conference, June, Malawi<\/li>\n<li>IEA meeting, June, Bali<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following events are under review. We will provide further guidance in April. Participants are requested to hold on travel plans until that guidance is communicated by AERC.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mid-review Workshop for Framework Research under the \u201cClimate Change and Economic Development in Africa\u201d (CCEDA) project, 30 May, Kenya<\/li>\n<li>Biannual Plenary and Research Workshop, 31 May to 4 June, Kenya<\/li>\n<li>Final Review Workshop for Framework Research under the \u201cRe-examining the Growth, Poverty, Inequality and Redistribution Relationships in Africa\u201d (GPIR) project, 5 June, Kenya<\/li>\n<li>Academic Advisory Board meetings, May, Location TBD<\/li>\n<li>Joint Facility for Electives (JFE), June-August, Kenya<\/li>\n<li>Shared Facility for Specialization and Electives (SFSE), August-November, South Africa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will continue to update you on our operating status.
